Tools Needed
- iPhone / iPad
Text Size (Accessibility)
Can't read the small print? Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size. Drag the slider to the right. You can also make it **Bold**.
Control Center
Customize the swipe-down menu. Go to Settings > Control Center. Add useful buttons like "Flashlight", "Magnifier", or "Screen Recording" for quick access.
Silence Unknown Callers
Sick of spam calls? Go to Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers. If the number isn't in your contacts, your phone won't even ring (it goes straight to voicemail).
Find My iPhone
Ensure this is ON. Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Find My. This allows you to track your phone if lost, and even erase it remotely if stolen.
Managing Notifications
Are you overwhelmed by constant buzzing?
- Go to Settings > Notifications.
- Scroll down to the app that annoys you (e.g., Facebook or News).
- Turn OFF “Sounds” and “Badges”.
- Keep “Banners” on if you still want to see the message silently.
Storage Management
“iPhone Storage Full”? Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage.
- Offload Unused Apps: Enable this setting. It deletes apps you haven’t used in months but keeps their data. If you ever need it again, just tap the icon to redownload.
- Review Large Attachments: Messages is often the culprit. Delete old video texts from years ago.
Pro Tip: The “Magnifier” tool (in Control Center) turns your camera into a lighted magnifying glass. It is incredibly useful for reading restaurant menus or pill bottles!
